WHAT'S HAPPENING? DECEMBER 2018
Every year we partner with New Creation United Methodist Church in Lancaster City to put on an incredible Gospel-Centered workshop for children and families in need! This year over 40 students, along with a great group of adult volunteers, joined in and made this incredible workshop happen. At this workshop our students were paired up with younger kids from Lancaster City. Each of our students take the younger children through the workshop where they do crafts, play games, pick out presents for their families and hear the Gospel Message.
It was encouraging to see so much support from our Church as once again we had a record number of presents donated and there was more than enough to go around! We would like to thank the families that donated presents, our students and adult volunteers, and New Creation UMC for making this workshop possible so we could impact the lives of so many kids in need!
Students filled our Grace Campus for our annual Christmas party and dodgeball tournament after the workshop! It was a great time of fellowship, connecting and getting to know new students!
Our Crazy Gift Exchange was also a great hit among students!
NAVS & RISE
It was another awesome month for our different gatherings and programs!
NAVS continues to be a popular and well-known gathering place among Penn Manor students in grades 6-9. NAVS continues to be a place where ANY student can come and be loved and discipled in a Gospel-Centered Environment!
Each week some of our older high school students come out to lead the younger students in Small Groups. It has been awesome seeing the impact this is having on so many students!
In December we finished up a series on the Life of Solomon. Students not only learned the story of Solomon, but more importantly about the principles the story teaches and how these things connect to the Gospel and apply to their lives!
RISE is a place for High School Students to be trained and equipped to be on Mission in the real world. This past month we focused on the three crucial components of Church: GOSPEL, COMMUNITY, MISSION. These three things must exist if we are to truly call ourselves “The Church.”
In December we defined these components through biblical study, but also were very clear on how it applies to the lives of students now. You do not have to wait to get out of High School to be on Mission for Jesus!
