What's Happening? OCT 2018
CURRENT UNDERGROUND SERIES:
“THE LEAST OF THESE…”
For those of you who don’t know “UNDERGROUND” is what we call our Youth Sunday School class that meets at our Hope Campus Sunday mornings from 10-11am. This series helps students better understand their mission and purpose in Jesus through the principles taught in Matthew 25. This is where Jesus calls us to reach the “least.” Here you see our students sitting around a large “banquet” table as Debbie taught the story of the Great Banquet it Luke 14. In this story Jesus teaches not just the importance of humility, but also a reminder of our Mission as followers of Jesus. Each week we dig a little deeper as we work to disciple students in helping them learn, love, live and lead like Jesus!
SUNDAY NIGHT LIFE GROUPS!
The idea of Life Groups is pretty simple: connect students who do life together everyday in a Gospel Centered environment. This doesn’t always mean meeting in a “Church Building,” it means gathering anywhere we can fellowship and engage in Gospel Centered Conversations! Here you see one of our Life Groups gathering for a fire after a worship service at “THE HUB.” (The HUB is our student center located at our First Campus on George St). We had a great time making smores and unpacking the worship service! This fire was hosted by one of the families connected with our youth ministry, who were very gracious in opening their home to us!
Meet Jeremy Stephens! Jeremy is the Church Planting Director of the Tampa Underground Network in Florida. The Tampa Underground is a network of missional “micro-church” communities. What does that mean? Over 200 church communities make up this network and each community has a specific mission field in Tampa they focus on. It is discipleship at its most effective and core level! Jeremy helps plant and train church leaders and communities in the Tampa Underground Network that help fight everything from homelessness to sex trafficking. It is truly the GOOD NEWS of Jesus, put into action. Jeremy came and spoke to our youth and college students at The HUB following a great meal and worship experience! Jeremy encouraged all listening to look at themselves as missionaries to the place God has them in now. Jeremy had great things to say about what we are doing here in The Process! We believe it’s an important for students to be engaged by older mentors and experienced leaders. We look forward to hearing from more people like Jeremy in the future!
5th Quarter is just one of our many community outreach events! After the home football games we provided all the students and players attending the games with a safe place to hangout, eat and connect with some of our great leaders! This is just one of the great ways we are building relationships with students in the Penn Manor community. Hot dogs, fresh cut fries and deep fried Oreos make for a great menu for any group of hungry students!
None of this would be possible without such a great group of parent and adult volunteers! Pictured here are just a few of them. A big thank you to all of those who made this night possible and continue to support all the work we are doing to impact the lives of students!
